THE HERA SANCTUARY
The Heraion of Samos was one of the most important temples of Ancient Greece, dedicated to the worship of Hera. It was destroyed three times by natural causes and rebuilt even more imposing and beautiful. The single column which dominates the site preserves the memory of the name of Heraion and its exact
location.

THE ARCHEOLOGICAL MUSEUM
The museum houses a collection of items used in the daily life of ancient Samians, pottery, coins and small objects made of bronze along with female statues,. The most impressive statue however is the majestic, five metre-tall kouros, discovered, like most items, at the Heraion sanctuary in 1980. |

WINE FACTORY
The Samos Union of Wine making Cooperatives which produces the Famous wines of Samos has two wineries, one at Malagari and the other at Karlovasi. The wines of Samos are exported to a number of countries and the sweet wines have established a reputation world-wide. |

POTTERY
Ceramic production is widespread on the island and is used by industries all over Greece, because of its plentiful supply of soil rich in minerals. Apart from the usual ceramic items, unique Samian products can be found in the form of the famous Pythagoras cup and roof ornaments. |
